Entry 172

Today,

My dad tried to rearrange the zucchini plants. Apparently, they'll grow quite large, and my sister planted them way too close to each other. The two zucchini plants that dad moved have no wilted. I tried to put wooden blocks up to help them stand, but he keeps telling me that it's no use. (Then why'd he move it in the first place if he knew they'd die..?)

The two of use went to Wal-Mart, and apparently, the top soil was on sale or $1 each. We bought 11 bags, then went to Lowes to buy cow manure. But, there was no cow manure! There was only lamb manure. (Or whatever manure. I can't tell if the picture of the animal is a lamb, or a sheep.) It stunk. BAD.

When we went home, my dad and I returned to gardening. While he spread the manure (thank god I didn't have to...), I planted grass seeds and placed top soil on the grass.

I hope the rabbits don't come out and eat the flower buds on the zucchini plants. Otherwise, no zucchinis for us... (Those little pests.) But pesticides don't work on rabbits... do they? Either way, if we use pesticides, my dad said we can't go to the garden for a week or two. But, we have to water the zucchhinis! So no pesticides... DX

P.S. I'm bored.
